The origins of the Airedale Terrier date back to the British population of Yorkshire. Its name is associated with the ‘dale’ valley of the Aire river, one of the most important in the region. Its strong and large texture distinguishes it from the other terrier.
This lineage emerged in the nineteenth century and has humble origins next to the working English population of the sector. It follows that the conformation of the airedale terrier has as its starting point other types of terrier such as the otterhound, the bull terrier, and the old English terrier. From the genetic crossing of these and perhaps some other species, the specimen of long legs and rough hair was obtained.

One of his most noble tasks is to guide blind people, but he can also work as a police dog and rescue teams. It has also been used as a messenger on the battlefront in world wars.

If you intend to live with other pets it is wise to raise them together from puppies, and they will get along great. Otherwise, your hunting instinct will likely be imposed and vehemently pursue any animal that crosses you ahead.
The Airedale Terrier is outgoing, very friendly to humans and always ready for action. However, it is necessary to train him as a puppy to reinforce his socialization habits properly. They are not usually aggressive but can be distrustful of strangers.
